Updated: Jul 19

D365 F&SC Tip of the Day: In Microsoft D365 Finance and Supply Chain (D365 F&SC), if you’re using the Tax Calculation Service in D365 (RCS Regulatory Configuration Service) and if you are in a Tier 1 environment, when processing a Purchase Order, Sales Order, or any function that’s trying to call the tax engine, you will get the error message: Posting – An error occurred during update. If you’re using the Tax Calculation Service in D365 (RCS Regulatory Configuration Service) and if you are in a Tier 1 environment, when processing a Purchase Order, Sales Order, or any function that’s trying to call the tax engine, you will get the error message: Posting – An error occurred during update. Posting Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.

When you go to the Tax Calculation Parameters, you will get the error message: Unhandled exception occurred. Connect to tax service.

To fix the error message, simply set the Enable advanced tax calculation = No. This will disable the tax engine.
